Colorful Design for Upper West Side Apartment Recognized

We’ve gone international!

One of our projects was recently recognized for our colorful design – in particular vermilion – by a publication in France!  What’s amazing and I love about being an interior designer in New York is how it connects people, places and cultures.

Urban life can sometimes give the impression that everyone is in a rush – but it’s important to remember that this is like all things: a choice.

The project that inspired this article was a great example of this.  My client was less interested in getting things done on a fast timeline and wanted what was right for her lifetime.

I love New York City and the eclectic nature of the architecture and its people. We all bring so much of ourselves to each new place we go. This article is a reminder of the interconnected nature of the world, and where colorful design and inspiration come together to create beauty.  As James Baldwin said,

It was in Paris that I realized I could come from anywhere and belong anywhere.

I don’t think it is a coincidence that he was from Harlem and developed his strong sense of the importance of community as a New York City artist before moving to Paris.

Our creative communities have long been connected, and it’s wonderful to receive this recognition.

People are creative beings, and we can never forget this.

We are all connected.

A la votre!
