Corcoran Collaboration • UWS Model Apartment
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Model Apartment for Corcoran Sunshine’s retold landmark building
Corcoran Sunshine asked us to design a model apartment for their landmark building at 720 WEA.
Originally designed in 1927 by celebrated architect Emery Roth, 720 West End Avenue is re-envisioned today as 131 elegant residences by the award-winning designer Thomas Juul-Hansen.
There are 3 model apartments, each designed by different designers. Corcoran came to us for our comfort with color.
Having grown up, and still residing in a neighboring building that Emery Roth lived and worked in, our founder, Tobi Wright, felt a unique connection to this project. It is also across the street from her former grade school.
We approached this project with our trademark experiential aesthetic.
A Phillip Jeffries wallpaper in the living area immerses you in a dawn-to-dusk setting—disarming visitors entering from the bustling NYC streets.
The bedroom, lined with acoustic panels from Indigoff and painted in Sherwin Williams’ Tempe Star, wraps you in an acoustically subdued twilight experience.
Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the kitchen. We selected finishes that worked seamlessly with their aesthetic.
