Design Consultant Services in NYC

Once in a while my role is that of a design consultant. This particular client had impeccable taste and didn’t need hand-holding. I helped with furniture layout and recommended where to shop for furniture in NYC. Beyond that, I would weigh in on paint colors and furniture proportions before she committed to the purchase. I also sourced pieces she couldn’t find on her own. One unique interior design challenge I helped her solve was how to hang a light fixture over the dining table (in its new location) without adding a junction box. I had a hard-wired fixture converted to a drape pendant light fixture and plugged it into a remote control outlet. This project was a true collaboration. My client wasn’t in a rush—we spent two years adding design elements to her home until it sang.
